ANIMANGA BATTLE - WIPS & REJECTS CORNER

I feel you on icons like this. Half the time I blend things together, it looks pretty good on 200x200, and then I resize down, and WOW TERRIBLE. Not that this is terrible, honestly. I like it! You could probably layer up some light blobs/textures on the 100x100 version and make something out of it, I think. Don't give up on it just yet!!

Ohh, a close look at the work of Kay. I'm loving how you used that stripe/swish thingy as a cutoff on the second image, that's so cool :3

If it makes you feel any better, I'm also struggling with this theme... I really don't like the icon I made for it either XD
The funny thing is, I used blending in a different icon, and it turned out just fine... WHY? T__T

Haha, I guess we do ^^ honestly, this prevents me from procrastinating because I'm usually like "but I have to go find images/textures I'll do it later" but now I've already done everything so joke's on me because I still haven't made anything :p though I do plan on changing that tonight so we'll see what happens ^^

so inspiration finally struck me and I've been crafting icons ever since my rude awakening this morning (long story), and I'm working on #6 and everything's going great and dandy until I look back at the themes and realize that the main theme was blue too not just cool colors. Back to the drawing board for me :p

LOL! Yeah, blending is tough.

To be perfectly honest, I gave up on "traditional" blending and just cut/pasted characters from two different images in one icon without any fancy blurring techniques. I feel more confident in my manip skills XD

I'd love to learn how to create a double exposure effect... I'm just not brave enough to try it yet.
