I haven't posted any icons here since AUGUST, omg.

So, I entered this month's

20muses challenge and it was SO AWESOME, YOU GUYS. I picked Revolutionary Girl Utena as my claim bc I figured I should icon something that's not Fate/stay night for once, and I've been capping RGU, so why not?

Everything is shining and it's beautiful! The whole atmosphere of your set is amazing! My favs are 8, 9, 11 & 14!

aw thanks! i just love to make things as shiny as possible all the time, lol. I'm glad you like 8 - it's probably my favourite of the set!

I should really get started watching this show, there's always such pretty icons made from it!

I love the text use and the colors/lighting on these! Favorites; 4, 8, 12, 15 and 19. Great set! :D

hell yeah, Revolutionary Girl Utena is the best and you should totally watch it when you get the time! if you liked Mawaru Penguindrum you'll totally like Utena imo - it really shows what the director can do when he gets more episodes to work with!

Dude, your pinks and purples are fantastic, and you make lighting so intimidating. I could never work light blobs like you do! (I always rely on b/w textures to light my stuff cuz I get embarrassed when I try to make my own light blobs and create a mess instead.) The text work in 5, 7, and 11 is awesome! :D

omg aww thanks, that's so sweet of you! tbh I start off w/ b/w light textures ~~(cough cough totally not the same one in every icon)~~ and then sorta, use that as a guideline to then paint my own blobs on? the glowier the better!

I wish I'd watched Utena so I could comment BETTER.

Anyway, I'm with library_of_sex when it comes to your pinks and purples. You rock those colors like no one else, in my opinion! What I enjoy the most about your icons is how soft they look, it's very... idk, romantic? Which I think works particularly well for RGU icons even though I know close to nothing about RGU.

I love the glowiness, texture use and coloring going on in these icons! I'm forever amazed at icon makers who can do so much with animated caps. 1, 4, 6 and 10 are my favorites, but this is overall a really cohesive and beautifully made set.

So much purple! *-* I love how you integrate text perfectly and how bright your icons are. My faves are 1, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, 14, 15 and 19.

Oh wow, this post is PERFECT PASTELLY GLOWINESS. They look stunning both as individual icons and as a set - idk how you did that with this kind of challenge! Ok, trying to pick faves: the composition on 1 is super clever and creative, LOVE the use of those tiiiny silhouettes and the text use is fantastic as well. The texture use looks particularly lovely on 6 and I love the soft purples on it! Really digging the text use (great fonts and arrangement) on 12, and the blocking and the use of empty bars on 19 create such a stunnign composition, really love everything about that icon. AMAZING SET!!! :)

Amazing colors and tones all around! Lately I'm liking pink/purple (I have random color phases LOL) so, yay! Besides the great vibrant coloring I love the lighting. My top favorite is 14, love the silhouette, the bright coloring, the background details and the lighting. I also really like the composition in 11, and the use of textures in 6 and 15 :)

Lovely bright coloring in all of those.

My faves are 5, 7, 12, 14 and 20.

I have no experience with anime icons at all, but I assume it must be difficult to make them this soft! I'm especially impressed with the text, which blends so seamlessly with the rest. I will definitely snag a few for inspiration, if that's okay!

Aww, thanks so much! Haha yeah, depending on the show it can be kinda difficult to make them soft. This show is like 20 years old, so there's a LOT of bold lines and not a huge amount of shading/lighting going on in the show proper, so there were times (especially w/ the few close crops) where it got a little difficult!

I adore 18! 14 is really bold, I love it. And 20 looks so vintage! <3 And I love your use of text in this set, it's dreamy.

This is my first time on Livejournal in years and I forgot the beauty of some these icons people make on here. The subtlety of number 20 really impresses me. I don't know how you make 100x100 pixels feel as epic as the whole storybook sequence.

If I were comfortable putting the prince as my icon I would definitely use it. But I'm not, so I'll pick the better prince: #16. :)
